Seal Point
Seal Point Cottage allows us to offer space to larger families -- or to those who just like to stretch out. Seal Point brings the outside beauty of the Islands right into your living room! Huge picture windows make up the entire north side of the cottage, as well as occupying a larger portion of wall space to the west and the east. The result is a 180 degree view of water and wonder. From west to east is Saturna Island (the most southern of the Canadian Coastal Islands) the Georgia Straits, Patos Island, Sucia Island, and Matia Island. Finally at the extreme east the mainland of Washington comes back into view.
Seal Point is a classic northwest coastal cottage. Its flat roof, big windows, and open flowing design nestle it into the garden surroundings. Seal Point is a two level waterfront cottage with a doorway at the top of the stairs making two very private and romantic levels if wanted.
On the first level is the sleek galley style kitchen (dishwasher, ceramic top stove, full sized frig, microwave, all pots and pans and utensils provided) that flows into the dining area. The spacious living room flows off the dining area and out to the large upper level deck (dining table/chairs, lounger, barbecue). The living room features warm wood-burning fireplace, big TV/VCR/DVD, Satellite TV, Bose stereo system, a beautiful leather queen-sized sleeper sofa and sumptuous recliner chairs.
The bedroom on the upper level features a queen sized bed, TV/VCR and of course lots of windows (easterly view of Matia Island and mainland Washington). A full bath and a laundry area with washer/dryer complete the upper level.
The lower level of Seal Point offers another big living room, with cushy Lazy Boy suede sofa (which is also a queen sized sleeper sofa) and leather recliner chairs to lounge in while watching the huge 36" TV/VCR/DVD. The north wall of glass opens to take you out to the lower level deck with the big (8 person) hot tub looking out at the water. The lower level bedroom contains two full sized beds and offers its own floor to ceiling sliding glass door entrance that looks at that eastern view of Matia Island and mainland Washington. Another full bath completes the lower level amenities.
Rates and Reservations
October 1 - May 14: $265 per night plus tax with a two-night minimum
May 15 - September 30: $355 per night plus tax with a two-night minimum
We do not accept credit cards; payment must be made by cash or check. One half the total cost is due as a deposit, the balance is due upon check-in. Two weeks notice is required for a cancellation of any or all of your reserved stay for deposit refund. We have a two night minimum, and a three night minimum on holidays. Stay six nights and the seventh is free!
Seal Point Cottage can easily accommodate 8 persons. Groups over 8 require an additional cleaning fee of $85.00.
Check-in time is after 2:00 p.m. Check-out time is before 11:00 a.m.
